I just signed up for my Costco membership this week! The Grillo’s pickles? Ahhhmazing value! Two dollars less and almost twice the size of the tub at the grocery store. I dropped many dollars into Costco’s cash register, gladly.
I really appreciate the list (the place was packed and, as a newbie, it wasn’t the time to dig super deep.) Now, off to finish *my* High Mowing seed order!
Yes!! Honestly the savings on some stuff is insane and well worth the membership price. I always tell new Costco members to try for a solo weekday visit to really browse and get your bearings — then it becomes second nature! But even I get flustered on a crowded weekend 😂
I also joined at the beginning of February and it has helped me slow down on grocery shopping at other stores immensely. I already love it. And lunch at the food court was delicious. Their soft serve is a huge portion too.
You convinced me! Just now purchased my first Costco membership. My mom has a membership, so I've been getting their maple syrup, coconut oil, olive oil, and bags of quinoa for years now-- but I want to support them right now. PLUS now I can get my gas there, and I have a feeling gas prices are about to change just a wee bit LOL so this will be helpful. Thanks for sharing your list!
I’ll check it out!! I used to have a crockpot but got rid of it in one of my three cross country moves 😭😭 I have an instant pot with slow cook feature though !!
If you planted potatoes and didn’t harvest them, trust me, they’ll be back! I planted some purple potatoes and they kept coming up for years afterwards, because I would always miss a few little ones.
Ooh, also, I just ordered their OvaEasy Egg Crystals aka freeze dried eggs… they arrived in the mail, and can be stored for 2 years. Just in case we stop having eggs in the next few months… 🫤
I buy the organic sprouted rolled oats. And the salmon burgers in the freezer section. The packaged organic pasta, organic sugar, organic maple syrup, organic veggie base in a jar, organic raw cashews.
Oh cool! I don't think I've ever been to a Winco but I am VERY intrigued by the grillo's pickle de gallo oh my gosh!! Yeah potatoes can be tricky depending where you grow them. I've done grow bags, in ground, wood chips...lots of trial and error but homegrown potato taste, even if tiny, is delectable!!
THANK YOU!! I honestly love writing them. I try to keep my blog to mostly biz-nass, like recipes, garden info, etc. but I really love Substack for yapping and more in-depth writing than could fit on an IG store or TT post, like with more nuance and longer attention span in people! I appreciate the comment :)

YESSS!! Another thing I love to get from them is bulk organic coffee, Ruta Maya, and it ships in 5 lb bags. Enjoy!!
Wait, is Ruta Maya national? Former Austinite.
Yes! I love grocery store rules that keep us on track, I recently wrote an article about how I think everyone should own a slow cooker.

I miss Costco so much! It’s one of the hardest parts about being an expat, haha. Also - enjoy ACOWAR :). It’s one of my favorites.
IT WAS SO GOOOOOD!! I’m on ACOSF right now and will blow through it in a couple days, it’s so tiny?!?!
What I would give to read them all again for the first time. Brain chemistry changing for me. Throne of Glass was amazing too.
Just switched to Costco, so very timely for me.
Thank you!
Hooray!!!

Haha! That’s what I was thinking, I’ll keep my eyes peeled this year

Oooh wait that’s brilliant. I may just do that 😳😳
Their cauliflower crust pizza 2 pack is the bomb!
Oh I have never had that before! I’ll check them out next time 🫶🏼

Omg yes I forgot all of those!! The salmon burgers are my daughter’s favorite — on the list for next time 🫶🏼
Costco is getting my grocery budget as well
Hell yes!!
Can't wait for Costco to open in Buffalo. Impatiently waiting for spring 2026.
Oh how exciting!! 🥳
Thanks! Signed up for Costco last week, supporting their approach to the world.
Enjoy!!!
Like you love Costco, but what is even better is your newsletter. It is such a great read, funny, informative and very well written. Thank you.
Thank you, that means a lot! I’m glad you’re enjoying it
Winco- is employee owned and they carry grillo pickle de gallo its so good. It the best cross between a Costco and grocery store.
I attempted to grow potatoes in 2020 they were so tiny. I haven't attempted to grow anything since.
